In alignment with international standards for registration renewal and with the implementation of the National Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Programme by the Ministry of Health, the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) is planning to introduce Revalidation as part of the registration renewal process in future. Necessary legislative amendments to facilitate this change are currently being undertaken.
As part of this transition, the SLMC renewal application will now include a section for registrants to indicate their participation in the National CPD Programme. This optional step is intended to sensitize registrants about the importance of CPD and ensure readiness for future requirements.
